Science is the answer.

Your Hair is the Frame of Your Face – Part 4

Every Head is a World…

Literally, every head is a world, because no two people have the same face and the same type of hair—well, let’s not exaggerate; there are identical twins, ha-ha. But they are the exception.

That’s why; if you’ve been following along, you already understand the title of our series:

Your hair is the frame of your face… and you are a unique person.

Your face, together with your hair, forms the identity of your person and gives significant hints about your personality.

So, by this Chapter #4, you understand the importance of knowing your hair type. Write to me and tell me what tests you did to figure it out.

Based on the knowledge of your hair type, you can then determine a routine that can help improve it, maintain it, and make it a star in your personal appearance—something that the people who know you can admire.

And to implement that routine, we’re here to help you.

The routine for improving and maintaining your hair can be divided into three parts:

1. Hair hygiene.

2. Hair care beyond washing.

3. Haircuts, their utility, and which cut to choose.

1. Hair Hygiene

Hygiene is essential for you. Hair, as part of your body, produces oils daily, sweats, and is exposed to the external factors of our daily life: smog, dust, sun, rain—depending on your activity, I’m sure you’ll find some substance that gets into your hair.

All these substances carry bacteria and other agents, which can cause anything from a terrible impression to infections or even hair-related diseases. Using natural hair care products, like Melanobars, can help you maintain clean and healthy hair. Taking care of your hair is VERY IMPORTANT.

Its hygiene should be an obligation for you, and here’s how to do it:

1. Gently brush your hair before washing. This will make washing easier and stimulate circulation in advance.

2. Wet your hair with plenty of water (I prefer cold water, but the best you can do is use lukewarm water, never hot).

3. Put some shampoo (It’s crucial to use shampoo according to your hair type) on the palm of your hand, not directly on the hair. This helps to measure the appropriate amount of shampoo according to your hair length and to distribute it proportionately across the scalp. This avoids waste and foam saturation, which does not benefit your scalp.

4. With the foam, massage using your fingertips. Apply gentle pressure on your scalp and hair in circular, upward, and downward motions for about 5 minutes.

5. Use cold water to rinse your hair, doing it thoroughly until you feel there’s no shampoo residue left (Very important for its care and your personal hygiene).

6. If you use a conditioner, now is the time to apply it, following the same steps as the shampoo, but only with cold water.

We recommend washing your hair at least twice a week. This frequency is for normal hair, but it will depend on your hair type and the activities you do to increase this frequency. Do you now see the importance of knowing your hair type?

2. Hair Care beyond Washing

If you want to have, and more importantly, MAINTAIN healthy hair, it’s crucial to follow these essential steps to ensure your hair is not only clean but also healthy and shiny:

1. Carefully follow the hygiene steps.

2. Always check its hydration level (We’ve already told you how).

3. Use a soft brush and combs with rounded tips, and when using them, do it gently.

4. Give yourself scalp massages while you’re in bed with one hand. This will help you relax and stimulate circulation in your follicles.

5. Depending on your activities and your own observation of your hair—and most importantly, YOUR HAIR TYPE—apply masks, oils, or special treatments to restore your hair’s properties.

6. Dry it carefully; as little as possible use thermal devices (hairdryers and straighteners).

By following this routine, your hair will shine, as the layers of the cuticle will be flat and reflect light, it will have more volume, and more movement—all naturally.

These two steps will ensure that your hair is clean and healthy, ready to be styled.

3. Haircut, Its Utility, and Which Cut to Choose

With healthy hair, all that’s left in your routine is to cut it.

Haircuts are crucial from two angles, both related to your presentation. You should cut it as often as your hair requires:

1. Cutting your hair helps keep it healthy because the most important thing is that by trimming damaged and split ends, you close the follicle to infections, preventing it from becoming more porous, dry, and fragile. This strengthens its growth.

2. A haircut boosts your self-esteem, because with the help of your stylist and depending on the shape of your face, you will choose a hairstyle that highlights your facial beauty, providing you with confidence and charisma in those moments when your presence matters.

I hope each chapter of this series makes you reflect on the importance of your hair in your life and helps you begin the journey to its personal care. We’re with you on this.
